Abstract
⸠Skin cancer is the most common type of malignancy. ⸠UVB is the primary etiologic agent inducing skin cancer. ⸠UVB is required for vitamin D production in the skin. ⸠Vitamin D and its receptor provide protection against UVB induced skin cancer. ⸠This protection involves inhibition of proliferation, stimulation of differentiation, immune regulation, and DNA repair.
