Preparation and anti-osteoporotic activities in vivo of phosphorylated peptides from Antarctic krill (Euphausia superba)

- Phosphorylated protein was prepared from krill protein isolate by dry-heating.
- Phosphorylated peptides from krill were hydrolyzed from phosphorylated protein.
- These peptides contained two types of phosphate groups (OP and OP).
- They dose-dependently preserved BMD and bone strength in osteoporotic rats.
- Their anti-osteoporosis activity was due to the suppression of bone remodeling.
