Abstract
⺠Brain activation of sst subtypes blunts various components of the stress response. ⺠Brain sst2/5 inhibits stress-induced CRF-ACTH release. ⺠Brain sst2 prevents stress-related anorexia and anxiogenic-like responses ⺠Brain sst5 suppresses stress-induced sympathetic activation and gastric stasis. ⺠Brain sst1 blocks stress-induced stimulation of colonic motor function.
