Abstract
⺠Skin secretions of Discoglossus sardus do not contain cationic antimicrobial peptides. ⺠Frenatin 2D (DLLGTLGNLPLPFI.NH2) is present in high concentration. ⺠Frenatin 2D stimulates IL-1β, IL-12, and TNF-α release by macrophages. ⺠Frenatin 2D may act to stimulate the adaptive immune system following infection.
