Abstract
► Peripheral vasopressin increases following intranasal oxytocin administration in humans. ► This pattern is limited to the first hour following administration. ► Vasopressin demonstrates high degree of individual stability over four hours and across six months. ► Plasma and salivary AVP are moderately correlated, supporting analysis of salivary AVP using EIA. ► Endogenous levels of AVP shape response to intranasal manipulation.
