Abstract
⺠Male hamsters received oxotremorine and scopolamine infusions into the preoptic area. ⺠Oxotremorine (OXO) facilitated male behavior whereas scopolamine (SCO) disrupted it. ⺠SCO also reversed all responses to OXO; only some SCO effects were reversed by OXO. ⺠This suggests that male behaviors relate differently to muscarinic receptor subtypes.
