Abstract
► Food restriction decreased chemerin mRNA level in white adipose tissue. ► Refeeding caused the increase of chemerin mRNA level in white adipose tissue. ► The changes in chemerin mRNA level were associated with changes in serum chemerin. ► Insulin increased chemerin gene expression in primary rat adipocytes. ► No effect of nutritional status on liver chemerin mRNA was found.
