Abstract
⺠DP4 is a serine type protease that cleaves enteroendocrine peptides GLP-1, GLP-2, PYY and GIP. ⺠The role of DP4 has not been explored in gut inflammation. ⺠Decreased tissue and plasma DP4 expression was demonstrated in Crohn's disease. ⺠This may impact on the activity of EEC derived regulatory peptides. ⺠DP4 is a potential therapeutic target in inflammatory bowel disease.
