Abstract
⺠The effects of orexin-monoaminerg interactions on oxytocin (OT) release were examined. ⺠We used rat neurohypophyseal cell cultures in our study. âºThe OT level increased in response to monoaminergs or K+ treatment. ⺠Orexins reduced the adrenaline-, histamine- or serotonin-induced OT level increases. ⺠Orexin-monoaminerg interactions occur at both neurohypophyseal and hypothalamic levels.
