Abstract
⺠FMRFamide-related peptides were tested for oral activity against a pest aphid species. ⺠Aphid myosuppressin and leucomyosuppressin had significant dose-dependent effects. ⺠Aphid myosuppressin killed 100% of aphids within 10 days. ⺠Aphid myosuppressin and leucomyosuppressin were degraded by enzymes in the aphid gut. ⺠Potential use of myosuppressins in a strategy to control aphid pests.
