Abstract
⺠We investigated ghrelin- and its receptor-immunoreactive cells in Xenopus pancreas. ⺠Ghrelin-cells corresponded to insulin-containing cells. ⺠Receptor-cells corresponded to insulin- and somatostatin-containing cells. ⺠Metabolic regulation by ghrelin is widely conserved in vertebrate pancreas.
