Abstract
► Natriuretic peptides cause relaxation of the guinea pig lower esophageal sphincter. ► The relative potencies were DNP > BNP > ANP > = CNP in two models. ► DNP is the most potent natriuretic peptide to cause the relaxation. ► Natriuretic peptides may modulate the lower esophageal sphincter motility.
