Abstract
⺠Natriuretic peptides cause relaxation of the guinea pig lower esophageal sphincter. ⺠The relative potencies were DNP > BNP > ANP > = CNP in two models. ⺠DNP is the most potent natriuretic peptide to cause the relaxation. ⺠Natriuretic peptides may modulate the lower esophageal sphincter motility.
