Abstract
From the results it was concluded that aqueous & ethyl acetate fractions showed promising IC50 values for in-vitro hypoglycemic activity. The preliminary investigation results confirmed the presence of flavonoids in ethyl acetate fraction, saponin, reducing sugar and tannin in aqueous fraction. Accordingly the antiradical activity and α-amylase activity may be regarded to the flavonoids, tannins and saponins present in the fractions.
