Abstract
To reduce the risk of infection in hospitalized patients, DA-HAI surveillance is of primary importance because it effectively describes and addresses the importance and characteristics of the threatening situation created by DA-HAIs. The present surveillance shows high rates of ICU-onset DA-HAIs and high resistance patterns of organisms causing HAIs, representing a major risk to patient safety.
