Abstract
Secondary school nurses and athletic trainers have similar and divergent roles that allow for potential collaboration to occur. There are inherent barriers to collaboration that make it difficult for both professionals to work together, but communication, individual expertise, shared resources, trust, and elimination of financial restrictions should provide for optimal collaboration.
