Abstract
Bronchogenic cyst is a congenital tumor resulting from abnormal development of the foregut. Most described cysts are located in the mediastinum, giving symptoms of respiratory infection. Isolated intra-abdominal bronchogenic cyst is a rare abnormality, usually located retroperitoneally. In such a location, they are mostly asymptomatic until secondary infection or achieving a size capable of causing pressure on the important anatomical structures. Once the diagnosis is established, surgical treatment is recommended to avoid complications, including malignant transformation. The authors present a case of a 3.5-year-old girl with an extremely rare, intraperitoneal location of the cyst.
