Abstract
The annual rate of poisoning did not decrease during the studied period. In recent years the frequency of accidental poisoning caused by pepper gas, plants and ethyl alcohol was significantly increased. The clinical course of acute accidental intoxications was mild and, in many cases, hospitalization was not considered necessary. We concluded that the best way to manage acute accidental poisoning in children and adolescents could be outpatient observation or in a rescue department after previous consultation with the Regional Toxicological Center.
