Abstract
Despite the limitations of our study, we believe it accurately represents the present use of urgent temporary pacing in a Cardiology department of a tertiary care centre. The high rate of complications, consistent with other series, reaffirms the Clinical Practice Guidelines to hold this technique to cases of necessity and not use it as banal. On the other hand, safer venous accesses should be assessed.
