Abstract
The present document describes the position of the Spanish Society of Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgery as regards aortic valve disease and its medical-surgical approach. In particular, it establishes the embodiment of the european and american clinical practice guidelines in the particular context of aortic valve disease in Spain. Specifically, they explain the indication criteria and structural requirements, as well as the techniques and professionals needed to perform transcatheter aortic valve implantation, with the aim of achieving maximum quality and safety for the patient.
