Abstract
Coronary bifurcations, due to stress and turbulent blood flow, are especially susceptible to developing arteriosclerotic lesions, which are present in up to 30% of patients with multivessel disease, and represent 10 to 15% of all interventions. However, percutaneous management continues to be a challenge both in terms of long-term cardiac events, as well as in the technical success of the procedure. This document represents an updated review of the anatomy, physiology, classification and recommendations of the interventionist strategies for treatment, based on the clinical evidence, in order to unify concepts.
