Abstract
The use of opioids is common in both adult and pediatric intensive care. Administration time and the cumulative dose are risk factors associated with the presentation of withdrawal syndrome due to the use of any of the drugs in this group. To prevent its appearance, identify it early, and search for a therapeutic option has become strategies complementary to its use that all intensive staff must know and manage. An approach to the problem is presented, looking for a practical management algorithm that would prevent and control symptoms in children with risk factors.
