Abstract
Acute kidney injury is associated with rates of over 60% mortality, and is identified as a poor prognostic factor in critical patients. These data are just the starting point to argue the importance of renal support, which is defined as a series of measures to prevent further deterioration in renal function, facilitate recovery, and supplement the temporary or permanent impairments of acute renal injury.
