Abstract
Cerebral gas embolism is a potential complication in central venous procedures. Safety measures need to put in place when performing these procedures in order to prevent the entry of air into the arterial or venous circulation, which can cause predisposing events, such as patent foramen ovale, leading to an unfavourable outcome of the patient.
