Abstract
Surgical delay greater than 4â¯days and Charlson Comorbidity Indexâ¯â¥â¯3 were found as factors associated with increased mortality, along with anaemiaâ¯<â¯10â¯g/dl and ageâ¯â¥â¯80â¯years. A similar mortality rate was found in this study compared to the rates reported by the literature, despite a surgical delay of 8.8â¯days.
