Abstract
Deprivation is a major health issue because individual health depends on many determinants and the social status is one of them. Those determinants are responsible for the social health inequalities development. Nonetheless in the absence of a clear national political path track, health disparities remain important in the population. The evaluation report of the 2004 public health law makes recommendations to reduce more effectively those social health inequalities. General practitioners, by using the biopsychosocial model acknowledge, those determinants main issue whereas they should consider those determinants in a more effective way. Therefore, it seems important to evaluate the health professionals efficacy regarding this issue and make them more aware of public health implications. What means are available to reduce the social health inequalities in a more effective way? What place for the use of precariousness spotting scores, integrated care or clinical public health? In this context, the positioning of the health professionals is changed and a new frame for the health practice must be invented.
