Abstract
SummaryThis article provides accounts by the past and present editors of the Scandinavian Journal of Management, recounting its history and showing how editing an international academic journal has changed over time. Reflections are offered on developing a journal of management studies from the margins; from outside the core of a field that is dominated by Anglo-American actors, outlets and traditions. This article provides insights on working a system of academic publishing that has become global, on the one hand, and on striving to maintain a distinct and attractive niche profile, on the other.
