Abstract
Protocol-driven management of anti-epileptic drug therapy assists in producing a promptly escalating response to GCSE. Current evidence supports the initial use of lorazepam followed by phenytoin/barbiturates if seizures continue. General anaesthesia may be necessary for refractory status.
