Abstract
Tricuspid valve is usually considered as a second order disease. Most of the cases of tricuspid valve disease are secondary to left heart disease, but we know that in some of these cases the right disease determines the prognosis. The present paper reviews from a practical standpoint the tricuspid anatomy, the relations of the tricuspid valve with other cardiac structures and its pathophysiology, which are of utmost interest at the time to indicate surgical correction.
