Abstract

This article explores the best uses of moving pictures (film, video and television) to develop intercultural sensitivity in late adolescents and adults. It is based on findings of a Delphi study in which three rounds of questions were addressed to a panel of selected experts to systematically explore the unique powers and uses of moving pictures to improve intercultural sensitivity and ability to interact effectively across cultures. This article describes effective uses of moving pictures to sustain progressive development in alignment with stages along a developmental continuum derived from Dr. Milton Bennett's “Developmental Model of Intercultural Sensitivity.”
