Abstract
⺠We examine how venture capital and angel investors foster relationships with the firms in their investment portfolio. ⺠We examine two types of interfirm relationships: strategic alliances and customer-supplier relationships. ⺠Venture capital investors facilitate value-increasing relationships through industry networking and through certification. ⺠Angel investors facilitate relationships through industry networking, but not through certification.
