Abstract
The kinetics of peroxynitrite accumulation in UV-irradiated (253.7 nm) alkali nitrates has been studied. The quantum yield of peroxynitrite and its stationary concentration which can be created in a thin layer of the sample within a lengthy exposure have been calculated. The distance of the transfer of a low-energy excited state of the nitrate ion annealing peroxynitrite was stated to be 1.2 nm < R0 > 1.5 nm.
