Abstract
The effect of pH on the electronic absorption spectra and luminescence behavior of the [Ru(bpy)3]2+, [Ru(bpy)2(mbpy)-NHCH3]2+ and [Ru(bpy)2(mbpy)-acrd]3+ complexes, where bpy = 2,2â²-bipyridine, mbpy = 4-methyl-4â²-carbonyl-2,2â²-bipyridine and acrd = 9-aminoacridinyl, has been investigated with special attention in the amide connection. The pH-dependent photophysical properties were investigated by steady state and time-resolved luminescence spectroscopy.
