Abstract
This paper focuses on one among a number of areas, where recent legislative initiatives can have grave implications for technological development and progress. It describes a promising case of innovation, which risks being hampered severely by particular aspects of EU copyright legislation. The paper is not concerned with the overall perspective of IPRs (Intellectual Property Rights), but focuses at a particular form of convergence where small developers face a particular set of legal obstacles.
