Abstract
This paper analyzes the minimum probability of success required for transplanting non-cadaveric organs. The relationship between this probability and factors such as the initial, and possible rates of change in the quality-adjusted life-years of the recipient and donor, as well as the expected medical knowledge gains, is conceptually developed and formulated and numerically illustrated.
