Abstract
Geometrically nonlinear analysis of Reissner plates using the boundary element method is presented in this paper. The nonlinear terms are treated as body forces and a coupled boundary integral formulation for bending and two-dimensional plane stress elasticity is derived. The domain integrals resulting from nonlinear terms are transformed into boundary integrals using the dual reciprocity method. Increment technique for applied loads is developed to solve the nonlinear boundary integral equations. Two numerical examples are presented to demonstrate the efficiency and accuracy of the proposed method.
