Elfving's Theorem Revisited

The importance of Elfving's geometrical result is illustrated by showing how his original proof can be used to prove a number of Elfving-type results without the use of equivalence theorems. It is indicated that some of the elementary equivalence theorems follow easily from the Elfving results. It is also shown that Elfving Theorem is equivalent to a special case of a general theorem in approximation theory.
