Abstract
The reaction of HAchexim with SnMeCl3 and SnPhCl3 yielded [SnMe(Achexim)Cl2] (1) and [SnPh(Achexim)Cl2] (2), respectively. The complexes were characterized by IR, NMR (1H, 13C) spectroscopic methods, elemental analysis and X-ray crystal structure determination. The X-ray studies revealed that both complexes possess a distorted octahedral geometry with the organic group (Me and Ph) and the tridentate ligand (Acheximâ) at the same plane while the Cl atoms are trans spanned. The complexes 1 and 2 crystallize in the monoclinic (P21/n) and orthorhombic (Pbca) crystal system, respectively.
