Abstract
The syntheses, X-ray characterization and photoluminescent properties of three new metal-organic coordination polymers, [M(oba)(phen)]n·H2O (M=Zn (1), Cd (2)) and [Zn(oba)(2,2â²-bpy)]n (3), (oba=4,4â²-oxybis(benzoate), phen=1,10-phenanthroline), have been reported. They all exhibit one-dimensional helical structures that are further assembled into three-dimensional networks via aromatic Ï-Ï stacking interactions, and blue photoluminescence at room temperature. These results indicate that the geometry of ligand is one of the most important factors for the construction of helical motifs.
