Abstract
In the work reactions of polyaniline (PANI) with Pt4+ and Pd2+ ions in acetonitrile solutions of PtCl4 and PdCl2 have been studied. UV/vis spectroscopy has been used to follow the course of the reactions. FTIR and UV/vis/NIR spectroscopies and scanning electron microscopy combined with microanalysis have been applied to investigate the PANI-Pt, PANI-Pd systems obtained. Based on these studies, it has been found that two types of processes occur in the systems studied: doping of PANI with incorporation of metal ions as well as redox reactions. In the latter ones, the polymer is partially oxidized and metal ions reduced. Doping of PANI is significantly stronger in the PtCl4 solution than in the PdCl2 one.
