Abstract
Two unusual compounds, (C6H5NO2)2[La(H2O)7][CrMo6H6O24]·10.5H2O 1 and (C2H5NO2)2[Nd(H2O)5][CrMo6H6O24]·10H2O 2, have been synthesized and characterized by elemental analyses, IR, TG, and single crystal X-ray diffraction. Compound 1 is made up of supramolecular sheets of [Cr(OH)6Mo6O18]3â polyoxoanion-supported lanthanum complexes pillared by individual [Cr(OH)6Mo6O18]3â clusters via weak intermolecular interactions forming a three-dimensional microporous framework with two types of channels, and the 'guest' water molecules reside in the channels. Compound 2 also exhibits a new three-dimensional supramolecular network with one-dimensional sandglass-like channels based on the extensive hydrogen-bonding interactions between the [Cr(OH)6Mo6O18]3â polyoxoanions and neodymium-glycine coordination complexes.
