Abstract
Hippurates of V(III), Cr(III) and Fe(III) were isolated as solids with the general formula; [V(hip)3]·15H2O, [Cr(hip)3]·6H2O and [Fe(hip)3]·1.5H2O. The compounds were characterized from elemental analysis, infrared spectra, 1H NMR, electronic spectra and thermogravimetric analysis and proof that metal-ligand coordination involves only via the carboxylate group.
