Abstract
The optical constants (real and imaginary refractive indices), molar absorption coefficients, complex dielectric constants and complex molar polarizabilities of liquid fluorobenzene between 4000 and 400 cmâ1 at 25 °C are reported for the first time. The complex refractive indices were determined from transmission measurements across the mid-infrared in KBr and NaCl cells with pathlengths from 2 to 3300 μm. The liquid phase fundamentals are assigned from the νËαâ³m spectrum with the aid of ab initio calculations and previous literature gas phase assignments of similar compounds.
