Abstract
In this paper, we report a promising design of the KEK model of the edge-cooled non-rotating graphite target for 1Â MW operation at J-PARC Muon Science Facility, based upon a new idea inserting a Ti buffer layer at the interface between graphite and copper frame, together with the successful fabrication of the proto-type target according to the dedicated design of our request.
