Abstract
A study of the electromagnetic transition from the ground state to the 7.654-MeV, 0+ state in 12C induced by electron scattering is reported. Using extensive electron scattering data and the DWBA computer code HADES, analysis was performed using a Fourier- Bessel (FB) expansion of the transition charge distribution. The FB coefficients for the transition charge radius yield a value for the pair width of 52.0 ± 1.4 μeV, the most precise results to date.
