Abstract
We study the role played by hyperons on the hadron-star to quark-star conversion mechanism proposed recently by Berezhiani and collaborators. We find that the quantum nucleation of a quark matter drop inside hadron matter is faster when the presence of hyperons is taken into account in the hadron phase. As a consequence the conversion mechanism is then favored.
