Abstract
The angular correlation between the electron and the neutrino in nuclear β-decay constitutes a sensitive observable to search for exotic couplings in the weak interaction. This correlation provides also an alternative means to determine the ratio between the Gamow-Teller and Fermi contributions in mixed transitions. We describe here the progress of the LPCTrap experiment aiming to measure the βν angular correlation in the pure Gamow-Teller decay of 6He using a transparent Paul trap. We summarize also the status of similar experiments and projects.
