Abstract
The understanding of diffractive interactions at high energies still represents one of the main challenges in Quantum Chromodynamics. Diffraction is being extensively investigated at HERA; recent experimental results are presented and the dynamical picture of hard diffraction emerging in perturbative QCD (pQCD) is highlighted.
