Abstract
We have searched for the lepton-flavor-violating decay τ→eγ and μγ using a data sample of about 87 fb−1 collected with the Belle detector at the KEKB asymmetric e+e− collider. No evidence of a signal for the two processes is found, and we set an upper limit for the branching fraction of τ→eγ decay B(τ→eγ)<3.9×10−7, and that of τ→μγ decay B(τ→μγ)<3.1×10−7 at 90% confidence level.
