Abstract
In this paper, the recent results of searching for lepton flavor violation process via the decays J/Ïâeμ, J/ÏâμÏ, Ïâeν¯eÎ½Ï and J/ÏâeÏ, ÏâÎ¼Î½Â¯Î¼Î½Ï using 5.8Ã107J/Ï events collected with the BESII detector [J.Z. Bai, et al., BBS Collab., Nucl. Instr. Meth. A 458, 627 (2001)] are reported. Four, zero and one candidate events, consistent with the estimated background, are observed in J/Ïâeμ, J/ÏâμÏ, Ïâeν¯eÎ½Ï and J/ÏâeÏ, ÏâÎ¼Î½Â¯Î¼Î½Ï decays, respectively. Upper limits on the branching ratios are determined to be Br(J/Ïâeμ)<1.1Ã10â6, Br(J/ÏâμÏ)<2.0Ã10â6 and Br(J/ÏâeÏ)<8.3Ã10â6 at the 90% confidence level.
