Abstract
The Ï lepton has played an important role in many new physics searches performed at the DELPHI experiment at LEP. In this paper the basic selection and identification techniques are outlined. Some of the most interesting searches are described: charged higgs, doubly charged higgs, sleptons or excited leptons.
